Wall hanging thermometers are less common than their barometer cousins and this is a rare example by GEC, a company best known for its electrical and electronic engineering.
The instrument is compact and solid, with a heavy movement of pre-war design. It has a silvered dial reading in degrees Fahrenheit, chromed bezel and sight ring, bevelled glass and a set (or slave) hand. The case is dark brown bakelite.
The thermometer has been fully disassembled, serviced, cleaned and polished and is in excellent overall condition and full working order.
