GEOGRAPHIA 10 inch terrestrial globe, circa 1947

This is a good example of the popular table globe from the British company Geographia. It can be dated to circa 1947 as Pakistan is shown (1947) but Israel is not (1948).

The globe is constructed from a pasteboard sphere with hand-applied paper gores. The yellow-green hues are complemented by a gilt brass meridian and ivory bakelite base.

There is some damage to the map (which has been repaired, visible in the photos) and staining, but this is still a characterful globe that displays well.

Diameter 10 inches (250mm); overall height 360mm
