Post Office wall clock with Colin Banks typeface and 10.5 inch dial, 1979

Colin Banks designed the Post Office's distinctive double-line alphabet in 1972. It is featured here on a PO clock No. 96B with 13 to 24 hour dial (for use where operations were based on 24 hour timings), dated 1979.

The glass, dial and hanging plate are secured in a spun aluminium case (finished in polychromatic silver-grey) by spring clips. The clock originally had a synchronous, mains powered movement, but this has been replaced with a high-torque Seiko quartz movement.

The clock has been disassembled, cleaned and polished and is supplied in excellent condition and full working order (it takes a single AA type battery).

Dial diameter 10.5 inches (267mm); overall diameter 305mm; depth 75mm
