This clock once saw service with the London and Midland region of the former British Railways. Genuine railway clocks are quite rare, and this is an excellent example.
It is driven by the robust and reliable 8 day front-winding and front-regulating Smiths Astral 123 movement with large platform escapement, dated April 1958. The heavy steel dial is in very good condition with only minor loss to the blackwork. The golden oak case, brass bezel, sight ring and glass are also very good with minimal marking and age related wear.
The clock has been disassembled, cleaned and serviced and the case wax-polished. It is supplied in full working order with instructions on setting up and regulating plus guidance on aftercare.
